Description

Peñoles acquired the old Sabinas mine in 1994, thereby consolidating its participation in a new mining district. In 2006, the installation of a lead-copper separation circuit was completed, yielding higher quality concentrates. Ever since, significant investments in exploration have confirmed additional reserves, justifying subsequent increases in milling capacity from 150,000 tons per year to 1.3 million tons per year as of today.

In May 2019, the Sabinas complex was the first Peñoles operation to earn ISO 45001 certification, an international standard for Occupational Safety and Health Management.
