Activity that consists of boring holes in the subsoil. For exploration purposes, the cores extracted through drilling to the surface are analyzed to learn the properties and mineralogy of the rocks. Drilling is also carried out for other purposes, such as filling the holes with explosives to blast ore or shaft development to provide for ventilation services into underground mines.
